Les Mill Body Balance 50 introduces ujjayi breathing technique (as a followup article from Breath of Fire Kundalini Yoga Pranayama). This time I am pretty sure I am correct 🙂 I tried this technique during downward facing dog (adho mukha svanasana), high lunge (utthita ashwa sanchalanasana), one-legged king pigeon pose – (eka pada rajakapotasana) and it makes it easier. I just do not know if the room was cozy enough for my muscles to be loose.
How to do
- Breathe through your mouth.
- Constrict your throat slowly when exhaling to lessen the the space of air passage.
- Now, apply toning of the throat during inhales. This would produce a very low snoring-like sound.
- When comfortable, close your mouth and do the breathing technique. This is ujjayi breath.
